Paintball at Taman Rimba Bukit Lagong, Selayang

This is the first time that we tried paintball game and it’s not bad at all. In the beginning, we almost bought the paintball vouchers from Groupon but after we surveyed the location, we found that the venue is not up to our expectation. The field is quite terrible, with one or two steel bars lying on the ground (a backup weapon?) and the bunkers are just some inflatable air sacks. Hence, we decided to look at other places and we found this cool place, called as Paintball Valley Malaysia. The location is at Taman Rimba Bukit Lagong, Selayang and do take note that there’s no network coverage at that area, especially if you’re a UMobile user. So be prepared with downloaded map into your mobile phone because we couldn’t find the location until someone pointed out to us. We bought the package with 200 pellets for each person and with that amount of pellets, we played for a total of three matches. Since we told our marshal that all of us are newbies, he set the gameplay (kill all opponents) for us but I believe that you can set your own gameplay if you request it from the marshal. For the first two games, we played in field 2 and the last game in field 3. The main difference between the 2 fields is that field 2 has more bunkers for you to hide while in field 3, there’s only 2 main bunkers. I enjoy playing in field 2 more than in field 3 and I’m impressed with the layout of the field. It’s a lot way better than the one offered by Groupon and when you play on the field, there’s a real feeling to it. 20141018_131909

The middle guy with the military style pants is our main marshal of the day. With his physique, he does look like a guy that can kill two birds with one stone, literally.

……………………..

And to those who haven’t try paintball before and is curious whether does paintball really hurts or not, the pictures below are some examples when the paintball pellet hit your body.

I got this injury on my left triceps after my friend shot me from close range. That time i didn’t notice his presence because I was concentrating on the enemies in front and he managed to sneak behind me. Because of the close distance, he didn’t planned to shoot but wanted to shout out to me that I’m out. But my team mate was beside me and he immediately raised his gun towards him when he saw him lurking at the corner. He got panicked and pressed the trigger, which in the end hit my left triceps. So yeah, that’s a cool souvenir to bring back home with.

This injury was just okay, not painful at all. But you can see the bruise marks on my finger’s joints.

Got shot on the shoulder. Ain’t that pretty? =D

Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and if you planned to play paintball for the first time, I would recommend you to try this place out.

5th Run: Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2014 10km

20141012_112904

This is the first time that I’m late for a marathon. Erm, late in the sense of starting the run. Siaw Wee and I actually arrived at the venue quite early and had a lot of time to spare. But we stopped at Bandaraya station together with our baggage and we didn’t know that the baggage storage area is located at Dataran Merdeka until it was quite late. And because of that, we have to walk for quite some distance to and fro from the starting line to the baggage area. That journey alone really waste a lot of time and if we were to know early, we would have stopped at Masjid Jamek station instead. After the tedious journey back to the starting line, I saw the guy, in front of the standing crowd, holding the board saying ‘Speed’ (we took part in Speed category) and I thought we managed to make it in time since the crowd didn’t run past him. Luckily, Eileen asked that guy and he replied that the run had already started. Damn. If she didn’t ask him that time, we will continue to stand there like a fool. After the whole thing ends, we found out that we were 7 minutes late but still, we managed to catch up and run past a lot of runners. Conclusion: A very good run because the route is around the beautiful landmarks in KL.
